DESCRIPTION: EPW - Webster, Queen Victoria St, London, keyless lever, 48mm, heavy 18K gold OF original consular case bearing London hallmarks for 1885, "E . W" marking in cameo for casemaker Edgar Wilkins, white enamel SS dial, SW-nail-set, lever escapement, 9J, gilt mvt, s#17773 with matching serial number to dial. Gross weight of assembled watch 59.2 dwt (92.0 g).
CONDITION: Mvt: Ticking very sluggishly with low balance amplitude, overhaul needed, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, few fine to micro-fine scratches, some areas of mild haze to gilt surface; dial with short hl at perimeter near 3; excellent hands, minute with small bit of oxide near tip; case shows light wear, scratches and marring to perimeter ridge at upper right of rear caused by misguided past attempts at opening this surface which does not open, some scattered fine to micro-fine scratches elsewhere, no dents or dings; tight bow, brass crown shows medium wear; clean plastic crystal.
